The DBQ is committed to the development and growth of new clubs throughout Queensland. Our focus is not just on southeast Queensland but the whole state.
DBQ’s vision is to establish a zoned competition throughout Queensland within the next three year. This will mean there will be enough clubs in each zone to run local regattas and then finish the season with a bumper State Titles hosted by a different zone each year with a bumper State Titles hosted at Lake Kawana Sunshine Coast.
The DBQ has a committee who is the first contact point for new clubs or existing clubs seeking assistance.
DBQ has out together a nine-module dragon boat guide – Dragon Scales – designed to help new clubs start from scratch and assist existing club with writing grants and sponsorship applications, club governance and fundraising.

The Queensland Government has provided to DBQ for development programs to get more Queenslanders active through sport and recreation.
This funding gives the DBQ the resources to focus on developing new and existing clubs throughout Queensland and to help the sport grow.
